Are you having a heck of a time getting traffic through comments you post on blogs?
It feels super frustrating to spend all that time, effort, and to put your blood sweat and tears into publishing guest post worthy comments on blogs for weeks and seeing no real return.
You have a mental block to overcome. Or to dissolve. At least if you want to drive big traffic to your blog through this marketing channel.
Having been totally annoyed over time wasted on blog commenting I know both the mental block and the solution really well.
The Mental Block
This limiting belief relates especially to top blogs in your niche. Popular blogs. Respected blogs.
I mistakenly fell victim to this silly line of thinking for years. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made.
Many newbie or struggling bloggers assume that since nobody comments on top blogs that blog commenting is a waste of time. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Since nobody seems to be commenting on the top that is the EXACT reason you want to comment on the blog in front of a massive, targeted, interested audience. You can be a:
- respected blogger
by publishing a comment on top blogs where few readers post comments.
Faulty thinking dictates you are wasting your time. Struggling bloggers – and newbies – often feel terrified that they will stand out by posting comments on high profile but less engaged blogs. Scary, I know, to delve into both of these fears, but I inspired a NY Times Best Selling Author to tweet 2 of my eBooks because I commented on his blog when few other folks were commenting.
I stood out. I popped up on his radar. I landed 2 powerful endorsements from a brilliant business mind with a massive, engaged following.
All the readers who will read your comments are highly interested in the blogging niche and many of these audiences are massive. Just because they are not commenting does not mean they aren’t there.
First, cut through your fears associated with blog commenting. Whether you’re a new blogger who feels intimidated to share your thoughts or whether you are a struggling blogger who feels so blinded by your failures that you ignore valuable opportunities you must feel your fears to clear the fears.
Take a deep breath. Relax. Let the feelings course through and exit your body.
Commit to commenting on top blogs even if you have not seen a comment on said blogs in weeks or months.
You set the trend. You start the party. You begin to set an engaging precedent.
What About Specific Niches?
Some struggling bloggers commonly share a limiting belief with me; blog comments are not important in certain niches.
This is a lie. Any niche comprised of human beings is a niche where blog comments are highly valuable. Like-minded people meet offline to discuss their passions. Like-minded people meet people online – through blog comments – to discuss their passions.
If you can publish a post on the topic you can comment on that topic.
