Email your list more frequently to help and aid and serve rabidly loyal fans, who boost your profits by promoting you more and by buying your stuff more.
BUT….the root cause of the profit increase is facing the fear of losing aka annoying subscribers who no longer like your emails. Or, facing the loss of subs no longer interested in your work, or, no longer up to following your increased email frequency. Bloggers usually fear losing email list subs more than bloggers enjoy showing love to people who gobble up their emails regularly. I faced this fear a few days ago. Turns out – even though I email my list as frequently as when Haley’s Comet blows through – I had a sneaky little fear of losing subs. I let this fear totally overrule the subs who gobble up my emails in seconds. Ya know; brand advocates, folks who expand my reach, people who boost my traffic and money, the profits-increasers.
So I increased email frequency last week. Even though I do not actively list build. Well, these loyal fans expanded everything for me. Sure a few folks ubsubbed, but who cares? List building is about helping people who want your help to succeed, NOT about fearing loss via folks who choose to unsubscribe for a billion reasons. Either you have a good match or a non match for your email publishing frequency. Nothing personal. I care less if people leave my list because nothing personal or damaging can come of my intent to genuinely and generously help people. I send emails. Emails contain a link pointing to helpful content. I email from energies of love, service, fun and abundance. How other humans perceive my intent has nothing to do with me. So I ramp up email frequency, traffic and profits expand and if some non-resonant folks unsubscribe, no worries. I wish all folks the best. Everybody needs to find resonance. Unsubs find resonance through other bloggers, or different techniques, which sounds awesome to me.
Find email frequency that works for you. Meaning, get clear on sending emails at your desired frequency. What feels good and fun, but a little uncomfortable? Start from there. I advise against emailing 4 times daily because that usually comes from fear-loss-desperation-greed, not a good energy. Fear-acts bring fear-results aka struggle aka failure. But nudge up your email frequency a little bit if you crave greater profits and have been emailing weekly, or bi-weekly. Guaranteed, almost all loyal fans of your work want to see a few more emails weekly. Of course, if every loyal fan immediately emails you, telling you they want no more than one email weekly, listen closely. However, most of these folks want more of their fix. Seems to be par for the course with most bloggers.
Most bloggers fear boosting email frequency for fear of losing subscribers. But what about pleasing and better serving people who boost your traffic and profits? Focus on what ya got. Never focus on what you lost. Or who you may lose, by bumping up email frequency. Hands down, doing so increases both traffic and profits for virtually all bloggers because connecting with loyal fans more often simply accelerates your blogging success. Energy thing. Where your attention and energy goes, grows.
