Does blogging ever leave you feeling overwhelmed? Or perhaps you’re trying to get your blog off the ground, launch a new business online and it feels like it’s too much? I know how this feels. To be honest, I’ve had more than my share. Sometimes life even steps in and adds to the stress.
I’ve been a big fan of personal development for years but it wasn’t until recently that I really started getting serious with it. I’ve been told that I’m good at motivating people and should incorporate that into some kind of career. I’ve started thinking about that lately. Maybe it’s my calling? I’ve been brainstorming ways to use it in all areas of my life.
This week when I was thinking of topics for here at Blogging Tips it occurred to me that this site is all about helping bloggers, and sometimes bloggers need motivation. All the technical resources won’t do you much good if your spirits are waning and you feel overwhelmed.
Take a Break!
You aren’t doing yourself or your blog any good if you’re stressed and feel worn down. It’s okay to take time off. You do not have to baby sit your blog or website twenty-four hours a day.
Taking a mental break will actually allow new ideas to present themselves too. I believe it was Agatha Christie who said, “The best time to write a novel is while you’re doing the dishes.” It really works. I’ve had some of my best ideas when I’ve stepped away from projects. Just don’t make the mistake of getting back to work too soon; instead, write your ideas down and keep enjoying your break.
Daily meditation works wonders. When I start getting stressed, it’s usually because I’ve skipped this important part of my day. It doesn’t have to last long either—just five or ten minutes of sitting quietly with your eyes closed and focusing on yourself is all it takes to give you a boost. You can focus on your breathing, give yourself a pep talk, or just enjoy the silence. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.
Ryan Higgins has created an awesome product for using visualization. It’s called Mind Movies. What’s even more awesome is that he’s “attracted” the attention of the top Law of Attraction gurus; Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Joe Vitale.
I love these. Ryan has six free mind movies you can download to see if you like the idea. After that, creating your own mind movies is simple with the launch of his new system, Mind Movies 2.0.
Just visit Mind Movies and give it a test drive.
Outsource some of your writing. This will free up some of your time to work on the nuts and bolts of your blog; i.e. marketing, social networking, etc. Many bloggers use ghost writers for their material. There is nothing wrong with it. The smartest people in the world hire others to help run their business. This usually leads to them being the wealthiest people too; because their time is freed up to work on other areas and promotions. Or take time off.
Blogging is not an easy job, but you can make it easier on yourself by following some of the tips listed above.
Do you have a tip you’d like to share with the readers that have made your blogging life run more smoothly? We’d love to hear from you.
