If you write posts that are over a 1000 words chances are you could break the post down into a few different posts. And even better you could break it down into a “series” of posts all related to a certain idea. There are a few reasons you would want to break large posts into several smaller posts in a series.
Attention Span – We all know that the attention span of a web surfer is non-existent so you have to grab the attention, get your message across and stop writing. So breaking posts down in smaller digestible chunks will get your posts read through.
Give readers something to look forward to – If you are writing a series, let your readers know this post is part of a series and what they can expect in your next article.
Gain more subscribers – As a follow up to that last point, when you give your readers something to look forward to they are more likely to click the subscribe button to make sure they don’t miss the next article.
Time stamp all posts at once – When writing a series of posts its best to work through and complete the entire series. That way you can time stamp and publish several days’ worth of posts at one time. You already know what the next post will include and you can give a teaser at the end of the previous post for each subsequent article. This helps as your tying everything together and keeping things straight in your head.
I look forward to reading your blog series
