I thank someone who emailed me a few moments ago.
He gave me a blog post idea. This blog post idea 🙂
First off, we are all human. We are prone to fear sometimes. But ACTING on the fear leads to failure. You make stupid, bone-headed errors guaranteeing your blogging failure. Example; some dude emailed me a few days ago. He wished to place a guest post on my blog. Never heard of him. His cold pitch instantly alerted me to his struggling blogging business because blind pitching bloggers proves you do not have thousands of people pitching YOU. If people pitch you all day long, business flowing to you, then, you are a successful blogger. Otherwise, you prove how much you struggle and fail.
Anyway, I politely noted my paid guest posting fee. He complained (more fear and struggle) about having no budget (fear of investing money in blogging growth), and offered a link exchange.Never heard of him. Never heard of his blog. SO, a link exchange to an unknown blog, for my blog with 55,000 backlinks, adding 50 to 100 daily, plus a few of the most famous sites on earth have linked to Blogging From Paradise, my blog? Nope. Of course not. I never do link exchanges because the value-share is skewed. A link to my blog is highly valuable. Links to link exchange pitcher blogs, are, worthless, being void of value.
Again, I politely declined and wished him the best. He chided me in response, telling me I lost the opportunity to get a backlink. Arrogantly, he believes I starve for backlinks. But I get 50-100 daily. 55,000 and counting, pointing to my blog. His link is worthless, and he feels hurt, and afraid, about his struggling business. Wisdom says he licks his wounds and moves on. Fear and foolishness says he arrogantly tells me, I miss out on getting another link. That is pettiness in addition to arrogance. I kept things light, friendly, polite and loving. Smiles, kindness. He gets upset, pouts and tries to get the last shot in, telling a pro blogger who turns down opportunities like his thousands of times, that I am missing out.
Do you see how ego absolutely destroys your blogging campaign? Ego makes you see illusion. No one sees clearly if ego calls the shots. But feeling fears, swallowing pride and blogging humbly, allows you to learn from pros. Instead of arrogantly telling top bloggers how they are missing out or screwing up, YOU realize that YOU are a struggling, failing blogger, missing out and screwing up. Who reached out to who? He reached out to me. His offer is something I see a lot. Silly pitching pro bloggers is the most foolish use of your time. Far better to learn from top pros humbly. Stop being arrogant and deluded. Save the pettiness; you are not a vacant high school teenager.
Guess what happens if he paid me money to place his guest post? He builds a friendship with a pro blogger. Much learning and money flows from these bonds. Guess what happens if he politely builds a bond with me, learning from me, helping me, and asking for nothing? He bonds with me and learns how to succeed. Alas, he foolishly, arrogantly and pettily tells me I am missing out on a link to nothing, to a blog with zero value, while he missed out on learning from a pro how to get 55,000 links pointing to his blog, organically.
Humble yourself, my Young Blogging Padawans. Blogging feels frustrating sometimes, but do not project your pain onto pros. Never bite the hand that feeds you the knowledge and wisdom, to succeed.
