I had to catch myself this morning. Phew. Glad that’s over.
As I promote my peace promoting eBook I better walk my talk and tell you the real deal: stop overwhelming yourself with low priority blogging business tasks. Here’s the eBook by the way. Buy it to feel sweet peace in your mind and in your life:
OK…back to the blog post. I felt stressed and dare I say, overwhelmed for a few moments. Phew. Glad that’s over. Why did I feel bad? Why do I feel good? I quickly observed how I overwhelmed myself with tasks aka actions not important for building my blogging business. Writing and publishing blog posts and guest posts is the most important aspect of growing my blogging business, hands down. I keep having fun doing these things and helping you awesome readers, everything keeps growing. But this morning, I found myself bogged down in email for about 10 minutes; usually I am in and out in 1 minute to 2 minutes. I do not play around 🙂 I also spent too much time in Messenger. Ditto for wasting too much time in social sharing tribes. Right away, crazy fast, I observed my fears attaching me to these low or even no priority tasks, I turned around, and quickly changed course. Now I write. I already filmed a video and uploaded to my blog as a post. All feels good.
What overwhelm do you experience due to low priority or no priority business-building tasks? Do you spend 45 minutes responding to everybody on Twitter? But, you never have the time to publish one post weekly? Stop being overwhelmed by spending too much time and energy on tasks not entirely critical to growing your blogging business. Remember; you are a professional blogger, not a professional Tweeter or social media coach. But of course, social media coaches and folks who genuinely love tweeting, keep on tweeting like the dickens because your greatest business growth occurs doing what you love virtually all day long.
Bloggers suffering from overwhelm; the simple but uncomfortable formula to feeling better is let go low priority tasks, replace with high priority tasks, then, feel sweet success. High priority tasks including blogging on your blog, guest posting on blogs in your niche and promoting your business products and services. Right behind, networking. Building your friend network does wonders for freeing you from your blogging business as your blogging buddies promote you all day long as you promote them on the regularly. Stepping down, high volume engagement becomes a low priority task for everybody not being a social media pro because no one has the time or energy to spend hours on social media daily; overwhelm sets in for every non social media pro blogger. Gary Vee does it because he is Mr. Social Media. You likely are a blogging tips, self help or home business blogger…..so feel good about blogging and guest posting most of your day, about your niche. Feel even better devoting virtually all of your time to business-growing tasks to uncover the great secret of blogging success and to leave overwhelm in the dust.
