Help a top blogger. Ask for nothing. This is the easiest and quickest way to get the attention of a blogger. But you need to patiently help top bloggers and ask for nothing in order to grab their focus in a fast-paced world. Some bloggers comment on my blog and immediately ask me to do something for them. I rarely do what they ask for because they are asking without proving they are interested in me, first. Do you see what I mean?
Be patiently and persistently generous with top bloggers to get their attention. Why does this strategy work? Helping someone without asking anything of them proves you are interested in the individual versus being interested in what the individual can do for you. Most bloggers blog from an energy of fear. This crowd tries to manipulate top bloggers to do things for them, solely for their benefit. It is like the individuals who regularly pitch me to appear on my blog via a link, guest post or interview. Why would I feature The Strangers? None of these folks do anything for me so they prove they are just interested in using my platform to get profits and traffic and more importantly they prove they are not really interested in me.
I recall a fool a few years ago. He reached out to me to pitch me on guest posting for my site. He wanted traffic and profits. I explained how he has to build a relationship with me to earn my trust. I could then maybe allow him to guest post on my site. He did the idiotic thing of saying he didn’t have time for that because he was up against a tight deadline. Do you know how stupid that sounds? You do not have time to build a bond with someone, prove you’re interested in them and gain their trust but you do have time to try to get traffic and profits for yourself. I told him how he reached out to me and I did not need the link and also indicated the famous blogs where I’ve been featured using the relationship building strategy. He mentioned being featured on five sites I’ve never heard of. Obviously his strategy proves to be s failing strategy because he was cold pitching bloggers and appeared on blogs I never heard of while my 13,500 backlinks flowed to me without me pitching anybody, save 2 people over my 10 years online.
Comment genuinely on top blogs. Promote top bloggers on your blog. Promote top bloggers through your social media. Buy e-books. Buy courses. Hire top bloggers to coach you. Help these folks in as many ways as possible. Ask for nothing. Expect nothing. You will grab a top blogger’s attention span by being generous in a world of desperate, greedy, self-centered bloggers who are so afraid that they focus exclusively on their self and on their needs, versus focusing on other bloggers.
Getting a top entrepreneur’s attention is actually quite easy because the actions required to do this are super simple. Just help people and ask for nothing. Do this for a number of weeks. Do this for a number of months. Top bloggers will eventually respond favorably as your friendships develop. Then you will have their attention and in many cases these folks will begin to retweet you and mention you on their top blogs if you practice writing and publish content persistently. Making friends by being generous is a key step in the process but to really grab their attention you need to be a skilled writer and that comes with practice and publishing content. I know you’re up to it.
