Today was a chill day in Thailand.
My wife and I went to the movies, had lunch at a cool little Buddhist vegetarian restaurant and also grabbed some sweet Thai treats at the mall.
Factor in some offline house sitting duties and I find myself writing and publishing this post at 11:30 PM, Thailand time.
Today is a perfect day to show how you can blog when you’re really busy.
Life will intervene. Whether your workload increases or you are busy with offline stuff you need to figure out how to complete your daily tasks when on a tight schedule.
Follow these tips to blog when you’re really busy.
Commit 100% to making your blogging dreams come true. If you work full time it feels tough to stay up 30 minutes later – or wake 30 minutes earlier – to write and publish your blog post for the week. Commit to reaching your daily blogging goals. Be all in.
Being all in inspires you to do freeing but uncomfortable things to live the life of your dreams.
Record the video. Write the blog post. Record the podcast. No matter how busy you get simply deciding to get the job done make all the difference.
2: Stick to the Basics
I can’t do as much as normal today blogging-wise so I just wrote a post for my blog as well as a guest post. I did some blog commenting. That was it.
Being human forces you to cut your workload on busy days. During weekends you may take off from blogging entirely. If something happens with the family or if your job eats into your blogging tasks just pare down your blogging duties. Stick to the essentials. Write a post. Or write a guest post.
Do 1 or 2 things and leave all else behind to get the job done when you are busy.
Select a Few Blogging Tasks (only 1 or 2!) from this List
- write your next blog post
- comment on top blogs
- write your next guest post
- learn a new blogging income stream
Pick a few activities from this list, spend a few minutes on these tasks and blog despite being busy.
3: Get Your Rest
Get your rest. No matter what.
Example; I stopped writing this post last night to go to bed. I needed sleep more than anything. Because force negates.
Have you noticed how struggling bloggers seem to work themselves to the bone, sometimes working 15 hour days only to experience failure after failure? This crowd hasn’t learned how blogging is an energy game.
If you are busy – and we all lead busy lives – you need to guard against doing things from a hurried, desperate space. Doing so ensures you emit a worried, desperate vibe. Not a good look for aspiring bloggers.
Never let your busy-ness eat into your sleep. Get at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep daily. If you have young kids simply let go whatever activities you need to let go of to get as much sleep as possible and to finish your blogging tasks for the day.
Getting enough sleep:
- recharges your body battery
- helps you think clearly
- boosts your energy levels
The Wrap Up
Blogging on a busy schedule is not easy. Even though I am a full time blogger I circle the globe and change time zones like most people change their minds.
