Tips on Creating a High-Converting Lead Magnet

The success of all the effort you put into building your email list depends on how compelling the offer of your lead magnet is.

Here are a few tips to help you.

  • Make It Valuable: Think of what you can offer for free but they’ll have to pay for elsewhere. Stay away from random and generic content that your audience can find with a little dig.
  • Make It Irresistible: Give your lead magnet a name that tells your audience what’s in it for them right off the hook. Instead of using “The Ultimate SEO Checklist” as the title of your lead magnet, think of “15 Beginner-Friendly SEO Hacks to Get Your New Website on Page #1 of Google”.
  • Make It Hyper-Specific: Focus on helping your audience solve a single problem and achieve a specific goal. When you overpack it, it gets too boring.
  • And Don’t Make It Salesy: Remember, What it’s called. A lead magnet, not a sales pitch.

Here are some types of lead magnets you can consider.

  1. An ebook
  2. A mini-course
  3. Checklist
  4. Report
  5. Webinar
  6. Tutorials

You can choose anyone you like.

But for this tutorial, let’s go with an ebook.

It’s the easiest to create and also the most used by marketers.

Step 2: Design a Lead Magnet

Use free design tools like Canva to get professional ebook covers.

There are tons of templates you can select from.

Just pick one that gets your audience awed, customize it, and add it to your landing page and ebook page.

Once your lead magnet is ready, the next step is to create a landing page.

Step 3: Create a Landing Page

Your landing is where you collect emails from your YouTube audience and then send your lead magnet to those emails.

The best approach to a lead magnet landing page is the minimalist approach.

For the best result, the content of the email is the best left at

  1. The title of the ebook
  2. A short description or body copy. 2 paragraphs with 3 sentences each max.
  3. A bullet point on what’s in it for subscribers
  4. And of course, your opt-in form.

Here,  we’ll use Mailchimp to create a landing page with an opt-in form.
