Daniel Scocco, of Daily Blog Tips fame, recently released his first ebook entitled ‘Killer Domains: Tools & Techniques to Find the Perfect Domain Name‘. He was kind enough to send me a copy to review the ebook for all of you 🙂
Killer Domains: Tools & Techniques to Find the Perfect Domain Name
Retailing for $17, the ebook has 55 pages although 25 of these pages list prefixes and suffixes for domains (400+). Compared to other ebooks I have read, 30 pages of content seems quite small however I actually think this is good in some respects as some ebooks have a lot of filler. Daniel has stayed clear of that and has written a well structured concise book which has many useful tips, suggestions and links.
In total there are 7 chapters in the book
- The 7 Characteristics of Good Domain Names
- The Process of Researching Domain Names
- Keyword Research
- Prefixes and Suffixes
- Tools and Resources
- Registering and Managing Domain Names
Who is this book for?
The majority of this ebook is clearly aimed towards beginners and those who do not have much experience with registering, buying and selling domains. This ebook will give you a good introduction and summary of methods you can use to find a suitable domain for your upcoming project. Daniel also talks about why certain types of domain names are worthless whilst others are worth their weight in gold!
Although the first few chapters are aimed at newbies, experienced domain traders will still find value in buying this ebook. The tools which are referenced in chapter 6 are great but for me, it’s the prefix and suffix list which really makes this ebook worth the money. There are over 400 suffixes and adjectives listed in this ebook. Anyone who has spent weeks trying to find the right domain name for a project knows how handy this is. Not only that, there is a link to download an exel spreadsheet with the whole list split into different prefix and suffix categories.
When I first started working on the web finding a domain name could sometimes be time consuming but as every year passes it’s definately getting more and more difficult due to the increasing number of internet users. That is why I think this ebook is great value for money. As someone who had to spend over a thousand dollars to get the BloggingTips domain name I recognise the difficulty in registering a good domain for the website you want to start (believe me, I spent weeks searching for a suitable domain before this blog was launched a year ago!)
Bloggers who are looking to register their first domain should definately put this on their shopping list. Short term it’s sure to point you in the right direction for your domain and long term it should prove incredibly useful as a reference.
Webmasters who have bought and sold domain names for many years may already be familar with the tools and methods discussed in this ebook however personally I believe that the prefix and suffix list is worth the $17 itself.
The first 5 BloggingTips readers to purchase ‘Killer Domains: Tools & Techniques to Find the Perfect Domain Name‘ using the coupon code ‘bloggingtips’ will get 50% off (which brings the ebook down to $8.50 for the first 5 buyers!).
