How To Get New Friends In StumbleUpon With Whom You Can Form A Team?

Ever wondered if you can get friends in the blogosphere and form a team of people with same interests as yours? Have you ever thought of creating a small group who will help you grow in the blogosphere along with them? And did you know you can do all these using stumbleupon? If not, then continue reading the post, as I will be letting you know the same steps I took to get good friends using stumbleupon.

Before I continue writing about it, I suggest you to use the steps properly and not spam the good stumbleupon community. They have a really good community and if you haven’t joined it, I recommend you to do so.

1. Find People Who Have The Same Likes
Surely, it is hard to find people who have exactly the same likes. But you can still find people who have one or two likes of yours. Say, you love soccer and watching TV, you might find someone who has interest in soccer and not in watching TV. You can talk to them about soccer and become good friends and once you find a bunch of friends, you can form a team who will help one another when needed. You can find people who have similar interests in quite a few ways. I use one of them often. I visit a site which is related to my interest. The next thing I do is, click the “Reviews Of This Page” option in the stumbleupon toolbar (the one which is next to ‘send to’ option in the toolbar”). By clicking it, I see people who have stumbled the site. The ones who have stumbled are often the ones who visit the site many times a week. So these people have some interest in the site which means they have an interest same as mine. I add these people.

2. Using The StumbleUpon Messaging Feature
Once I add people in stumbleupon, I send them a short message in stumbleupon itself. I introduce myself to them in 2-3 three lines and tell them that I’ve added them because of the similar interest. This is one of the best ways to introduce you to the person. This is a good feature available in stumbleupon and must not be used to spam other members’ inbox with promotions and such things.

3. Carrying The Conversation Forward
Now that you are done with the introduction part, you have to carry the conversation forward. It is not tough and you probably already know it. Use the SU messaging feature and ask the person if (s)he would mind you adding him/her to skype or Y! messenger or any other chat client of your wish. Talk about the interest you both have and share what you both know. Say if you both are interested in blogging, talk about the ways which you both use to get traffic and make money online. After all, there are so many things to talk about. Also add them in twitter, facebook and in all the places where you both are.

What’s The Need?
If you can form a team of members who have same interest, you can almost get anything done. Say, you form a team with people interested in blogging. You can get votes for your best post in social media and also you can vote for their articles. You can get them to write for your blog when you are away and you can do the same when one of the members is away.

StumbleUpon is a good community with people of varied interests. You can find the ones who have similar interest to yours and become friends. Use it to your advantage and see to that you don’t spam the place. P.S: I have advised previously to use chat clients limitedly and I still say the same. When you add a person to your chat client, you don’t need to talk to him/her all the time. Just make sure what you are doing is worth the time.

9. Value-Driven Content

When communicating with Gen Z through my social platforms, I focus on providing some form of value in the content that I share. There is no audience as tech-savvy or as fluent and comfortable with different online platforms as Gen Z, and in turn, they will not be impressed by or respond to something that is not of value to them. Providing value allows you to cut through the clutter and resonate.

10. Mobile Experiences

Go mobile, because that’s where the Gen Z audience is. Smartphones are what they live by. This can supersede other strategies that might seem effective because, in the interests of the demographics, you have to go to the device where they’re at the most. If you’ve been following Gen Z on Instagram and other social media, you might have noticed that they don’t spend nearly as much time as, say, millennials to make their feed look polished.
