After you’ve set up your blog and installed WordPress, you will need to learn how to login to WordPress for the first time. Your WordPress admin or login information will provide you access to your blogging software, where you will have the opportunity to configure important settings, publish posts, upload plugins and themes, and manage your entire WordPress site.
Find Your WordPress Admin Info
If you used my step by step guide to starting your blog, your web host should have emailed your WordPress login information immediately after installation. If you did not receive it, check your email account’s spam folder; otherwise, login to your hosting account to find your details.
Go To The WordPress Login URL For Your Site
You can login to your WordPress site in 2 different ways – add “wp-admin” or “wp-login.php” (without the quotes) to the end of your full domain. For example, if I wanted to login to my own site, I would input one of the following URLs into my browser:
Enter Your Username and Password
After accessing your login URL, you’ll see a page that looks like this. Enter your username and password, and click “Log In”.
Once you’ve logged in to WordPress, you’ll be taken to your Dashboard, where you can navigate to “Posts” to publish content, “Appearances” to upload themes, “Plugins” to install tools, “Settings” to configure basic WordPress options.
