One genuine problem cripples new and struggling bloggers.
These folks attempt to parrot blogging pros.
Eventually, bloggers realize how pros are pros by being themselves and by blogging in their voice. But most bloggers have to go through a difficult period of trying to imitate top bloggers before realizing their voice is exactly what makes them stand out in their niche of choice. Nothing looks worse than reading a new blog and thinking that you are reading a copycat. You know exactly what I mean.
New bloggers often lack the confidence and clarity to blog in their voice. Your voice is what makes you stand out. Be you and blog you. Do not imitate Pros because people just go to the pro being themselves rather than read your copycat blog. This is why I suggest blogging in first person at least some of the time. Stand out with your stories. Gain confidence in your approach. We all have so much to offer as bloggers but need a little boost to be ourselves and to blog ourselves through our sites. This is often an uncomfortable thing to do for most bloggers who do not feel confident and doubt the writing abilities. I had to go through the same thing a decade ago before blogging in my unique, one-of-a-kind voice. That voice made me stand out from the 300 million + blogs online. It will be so for you to when you make the firm and definite decision not to copy a top blogger in voice, style and presentation.
Never be a blind devotee of any blogger. The moment you follow someone without question you become ignorant to the world around you. No blogger is perfect. I know specifically what I am talking about blogging wise, but like any human being I make mistakes and do not see things clearly, at least some of the time. Trust what I say but run it through your personal filter to see what ultimately works for you. But in the same regard, do not try to imitate me or mimic my writing or mirror my style because only I can take that path and succeed. You will look like a poser. Ditto for any established, pro blogger you admire. I read some blogs and chuckle at bloggers who try to be top bloggers when they are way off the mark. Just be you. You are good enough. You deserve to succeed. But you need to put in the time to become an established, pro blogger yourself buy generously helping people and by trusting in the blog and process.
You stand out by being you. I stand out by being me. This rings true for every blogger on earth but few make the scary but freeing decision of being themselves and blogging with authority. Readers often say I blog with clarity, authority and boldness. I just speak my mind with confidence. Nothing else. I never try to mimic anybody because I am good enough as I am. I blog me, and this style helps me stand out from every other bloggers on earth, which has not hurt my traffic and business either.
Be you. Blog you. Love yourself. Accept yourself. The world wants you to be you. Blog in your voice and stop mimicking other bloggers to become successful in your niche.
