Passive traffic flows to my blog now but only because I spent thousands of hours writing and publishing blog posts, writing and publishing guest posts, commenting genuinely on blogs, promoting other bloggers and creating videos and podcasts. All looks passive now. I can take off hours or days. My blog traffic keeps increasing. But ever-increasing passive traffic is borne of thousands and thousands of hours of blogging work. Putting in time and energy generously feels scary sometimes when nobody visits your blog. How does it feel to see zero passive traffic and 4 visitors to your blog daily when you work for 6-8 hours daily for weeks at a time? Sometimes, this feels terrible because you fear you are wasting your time. But passive traffic requires years of blogging work so put your head down, deal with the discomfort, put in the work and success will be yours.
Passive traffic will be yours too, but not until you put in the time, help people generously and make a blanket commitment to see the journey through. In my blog monetizing eBook I mention doing the mental legwork to think, feel and act like a successful blogger. Doing this mental legwork involves putting in the work consistently and persistently now to add a passive element to your blogging campaign, BEING the successful pro blogger in mind before you BECOME the successful pro blogger. I need passive blog traffic; I could never scale and live a life of travel if getting paid and driving traffic required me to sit in front of a computer for 15 hours daily. Never exchange time and energy for money and traffic; never become bound to your blog and to the clock. But do put in the time, energy and generous work now to position yourself to receive passive blog traffic because eventually, all of your generous creating and connecting creates a passive tidal wave of traffic flowing to your blog around the clock.
All the thousands of blog posts and guest posts I actively wrote and published over the years passively drive traffic to my blog if I take 12 to 15 hours off from blogging, spending that period of time offline. Observe a master at work in this regard; Jeff Bezos is worth over $100 billion USD now because he actively spent tens of thousands of hours working generously, leveraging intelligently and building up a passive income empire. He never traded time for money. He did however create the greatest passive income vehicle the world has ever known by working his tail off for years and by mastering the principles of leveraging and user generated content, as well as mastering the concept of using customer reviews to boost your profits.
Jeff did not sit there twiddling his thumbs to generate epic passive income and passive traffic through Amazon. He actively worked for tens of thousands of hours over years to position himself to succeed through Amazon. Now, his empire seems like it is 100% passive and it largely is now, but the likely 30,000 plus hours that he actively worked to net such a passive fortune was the real deal, being absolutely no joke in terms of generous effort, patience, persistence, with an eye on leveraging.
Put in the time and energy and work now to create the passive blogging income and passive blogging traffic you intend to gain, down the road.
