I recently changed the pricing for my blogging course:
to a monthly subscription model. Why?
First off, doing so felt good. I do what feels good even if taking the path feels a little bit uncomfortable. I also changed the income model to reflect the time frame or mindset of someone who lands features on top blogs. People interviewed on sites like Forbes, Entrepreneur and Virgin think on a month to month basis so I changed pricing to a monthly $20 subscription. This gets class students in the proper frame of mind to land features on top blogs.
Pay every month to learn, study and apply tips that help you get featured on top blogs over months then years. Nobody bought the one time buy course, studied the content, put the content into action and landed a feature on Forbes after one month of study and application. If it were that easy to be featured on famous blogs, 20 million bloggers would be featured on famous blogs.
Instead, a few bloggers land famous features because a few bloggers patiently study blogging, practice blogging, create and connect generously and hold the patience that leads to said features. This is why I changed my pricing structure to a monthly basis; I want to get students in the frame of mind conducive to landing features on top level blogs.
Nothing Is Overnight or Over a Month
Imagine you just paid your first $20 monthly payment on signing up for my course.
You patiently begin following the course, taking notes along the way. Would you complete the course in one evening? No. Success can not be overnight because completing the course requires at least a few days of your time and effort. Digging deeper, finishing the course is not the answer. Nobody gets featured on top blogs by racing mindlessly to the finish.
Expect to pay $20 per month over the next 1-2 years to:
- slowly and patiently complete the course
- slowly and patiently take notes on the course
- slowly and patiently put the notes into action
before you get interviewed by contributors from top blogs. No short cuts exist.
Plus, most bloggers cling to many deep fears regarding being interviewed on top blogs. Unearthing, facing, feeling and releasing these fears takes time. No blogger makes a quantum leap from fear to faith. Imagine if after taking 2 course modules you feel an objection arising in mind: why would someone from Entrepreneur interview you if 3 people read your blog and no one ever interviewed you? Facing such fears and proceeding with the course takes time, energy and a willingness to be uncomfortable. This is why it usually takes years to be featured on a site like Virgin; most bloggers require years of study, practice and patience to navigate a minefield of fears to get pitches from contributors at these top level sites.
Investing a small amount of money monthly prepares you for a fun, freeing, patient, persistent journey toward greater blogging success. Visualize yourself paying your dues literally and figuratively. Invest only $20 a month to access my blogging course and invest time, energy and action to study the course, to take notes and to act on the notes for this month. At month’s end, you will have taken a series of positive steps toward greater blogging success. Next month, you pay another $20 and put in the energy and effort to take more steps.
Literally, you pay a monthly tuition to access, study and use materials to become a highly successful blogger.
Take baby steps financially and work-wise, month or month, to land renowned features and to succeed online.
