16 Best Network Marketing Companies to Join [2023 Update]

Network marketing can be a good way to earn money on the side, but it’s important to discern between profitable MLMs and pyramid schemes. Because if you don’t, you’ll end up losing your money.

We’ve ranked the top MLM companies based on revenue below.

What Is Network Marketing?

From its name, network marketing is a business model where a member “networks” with people to sell a company’s products.

It’s often flexible, so you get to work as much or as little.

Network marketing has many other names, such as multi-level marketing (MLM), affiliate marketing, referral marketing, and direct selling.

To succeed in this direct selling industry, aka network marketing business, you must possess strong sales and communication skills.

Also, some network marketing companies require you to generate leads or recruit and promote new members.

It’s important to note that network marketing is a legal way to earn side income, but some self-proclaimed “MLM” companies get exposed as pyramid schemes in disguise.

Also, some network marketing companies make big false claims and then try to rip you off with their pricey membership and starter kits.

The way network marketing works is simple; MLM companies often group their sales reps into several tiers based on how many people they recruit.

And each sales rep that recruits someone new earns a commission on the sales made by the recruited person. You also get to earn a commission if you sell the company’s products.

Is Network Marketing a Pyramid Scheme Scam?

No, even though some multi-level marketing companies got revealed as pyramid schemes, legit MLM businesses are nothing to worry about.

But it’s hard to differentiate between a legit MLM business and a pyramid scheme sometimes.

Companies that have a pyramid scheme often don’t produce any real products.

Instead, they promise participants that they’ll make high earnings in a short period by recruiting more people and investing a certain amount of money.

On the other hand, you’ll sell real products to others or recruit new sales reps to earn a commission when you join an MLM business.

That said, here are some ways to identify that an MLM business is a scam:

  • False product claims such as curing an illness
  • Unrealistic promises of huge profits
  • Confusing compensation structure

1 thought on “16 Best Network Marketing Companies to Join [2023 Update]”

  1. Hello Brett

It was interesting to see the list in terms of sales revenue.

However, I would like to raise one point where I thought your article lacked balance.

I think you have misrepresented one aspect of the networking marketing industry: the successful people in these companies and their actual earning capability.

You write, “even the top MLM companies barely pay the minimum wage” !?,

There are are people who approach this industry professionally and have worked diligently over years to build significant 4, 5 and 6 figure annual incomes.

I know, and have met, some of them.

Network marketing does not provide salaried positions so there is effectively no minimum wage as there is no maximum wage.

Pay is directly based on effort, so if someone chooses to earn less than minimum wage or lets say diligently build a 4 / 5 figure monthly income over time, it’s their choice, simple as that.

With reputable companies, their compensation schemes provide the opportunity to build substantial incomes over time

Revenue figures you quoted going into billions of dollars would suggest that there will be higher achievers in there.

Most coming into network marketing either do not apply themselves properly, do not get or do not seek adequate training, have unrealistic expectations, or are just not suited to it in the first place, and their income, or lack of reflects this.

Network Marketing is a great leveller: even with reputable companies, there will be those that complain about the products, the compensation plan , the management, the industry etc and then someone else with exactly the same set of circumstances has outstanding success and a wonderful lifestyle. Go figure.

I say draw your own conclusions
Its quite simple, it’s a bit like life: you get out what you put in.

Just thought to make the point.

    Kind regards

    Neil Martin
