The Bloggingtips.com Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit the “About Blogging Tips” page.
Bloggingtips.com was created for you, the reader, and to become an authority blog that’s acts as a community for both bloggers, writers and readers to connect with each other.
The blog was started by Kevin Muldon, and first went live in 2007. In 2010, is was sold to Zac Johnson, and sold yet again to Brett Helling in September 2020.
While the site design has changed over the years, the mission remains the same: to help bloggers start, grow, and monetize a successful blog.
You’re probably wondering who we are. Well, we’re experts at blogging. Here’s our story.
My name is Brett Helling, and I’ve been starting and growing blogs for over 7 years.
When I was in college, I signed up to drive for Uber and Lyft as a way to earn extra income during the times I wasn’t studying or working my internships. But I quickly grew frustrated.
Back then, there was very little training once drivers were approved. Rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft would onboard drivers, provide them with a few videos that highlighted the basics of how pickups and dropoffs worked, then sent the drivers on their way.
There was very little training, and after a bit of frustration, I launched a website that is now Ridester.com. When I wasn’t studying or working for my other jobs, I toyed around with the site, hoping to create something that drivers loved, yet still helped them do their job.
The site ended up growing to 1.5 million unique visitors per month, to the point where I was able to quit my full time job and work on the site full time.
It was during this venture that I learned the amazing potential of the internet, as well as came to the realization that I loved to build things. To provide people around the world with useful tools and information, and for them to continuously revisit my websites, gave me great satisfaction and continued inspiration.
Long story short, the growth of Ridester.com made it possible for me to quit my day job and focus on building my internet company. Since then, I’ve branched out into many other areas, creating and growing websites such as Gigworker.com, a complete resource for workers and customers in the gig economy, as well as acquiring this site.
At one point, I started and managed more than 50 blogs. Today, I spend my time growing about half a dozen authority sites, some of which average over 1,000,000 visits a month. Now, I want to pass on that knowledge to you.
My Vision For The Site
The focus for the blog remains the same, which is to be a complete source for everything blogging, while compiling a quality team of writers from around the world to share their voice and provide everyone with different perspectives and how to succeed in the world of blogging.
Bloggingtips.com is the culmination of years of research and experience. We will discuss everything from the basics of how to start a blog to promotion, outreach, on-page SEO, link building strategies, growing traffic, and making money blogging online. If you are looking to build a blog, you’ve come to the right place!
Since I’ve taken over the site, it has experienced a high growth. I could write about it, or I could just show you.

As you can see, the site has already grown since I acquired it in early September. I plan to grow it even more.
Bloggingtips.com is already a great destination for blogging advice, information, and tips, but now that I am focusing my full attention on the site, I plan to make it THE go-to destination for blogging advice.
Stay tuned, big things are coming 🙂
