We’ve put together a list of 25 great ways to add a little something extra to your website with these new blog post ideas.

We hope these blog ideas help you beat that writer’s block. Let us know what your favorites are in the comments below!

1. Review Books/Products/Films

Providing value to your readers is the number one way to gain their trust and build a loyal following. If you post authentic reviews, your readers will think of you as a source of reliable and honest content.

If you want to become an authority, stick to topics and products that are relevant to your niche.

2. Make a Comprehensive Guide or Tutorial

If you have in-depth knowledge of a particular topic, turn that into something actionable for your readers. How-to guides are always some of the most popular posts on blogs, so use this opportunity to teach you readers something!

With tutorials and guides, you can bring new readers in, provide value to existing readers, and drive more traffic to your site.

To make your blog even stronger and strengthen SEO, include links and resources throughout your guide. If you can back up your ideas with expert thoughts, your readers will see this as legitimate.

3. Interview Someone

By posting an interview on your blog, you can add credibility to your site. You’ll also see an uptick in clicks, likes, and shares.

Make sure you interview someone that your readers will find interesting. There’s no point in interviewing a clothing designer if your blog is about science and technology. By finding someone interesting and relevant, you are well on your way to a great blog post.

If you’ve already interviewed someone and it is one of your popular blog posts, produce new content by conducting a follow-up with that person!

4. Host a Giveaway

Everyone everywhere loves the idea of winning a prize and getting something for free. By hosting a giveaway, you’re sure to see some benefits. You can use it as a way to collect your readers’ email addresses.

You can use it as a way to get readers to share your post. Think about what you want to get out of it and play to that angle.

To make it even more enticing, consider giving away a variety of items. You can reach out to some of your favorite brands or stores to see if they would like to collaborate with you.

It’s a great way to gain exposure for yourself and for them. Some of the most popular blogs in the world were created using this technique, so you know it works.

5. Create a List

Most people don’t want to spend hours researching a topic online. Save your readers some time and create a list (like this one!) that is relevant to your particular niche.

Create a new post with a lists of books, movies, etc., and establish yourself as the authority on that topic.

A top 10 list post works great, but if you can come up with a top 100 list, that’s even better. The more items the merrier in this case!

6. Start a Poll

It’s no secret that people love sharing their opinions. You see it every day on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Come up with a topic and ask your readers what they think.

Encourage them to add their opinions in your comments section and make their voice heard. At a later date, you might even be able to turn your readers’ ideas into extra blog posts.

7. Write About Where You Want to Travel

Looking for a unique way to do a series of posts? Create many posts that detail different places you’d like to visit or travel to.

Ask readers what their favorite travel destination is and encourage them to comment why. This can spur other posts as well, such as the “top 10 places to see in Europe” or the “top 10 travel destinations of 2018.”

8. Share Recipes

Everyone’s got to eat and lots of people love to cook. Posting recipes on your blog is an easy way to get people to share your content.

It’s also an easy way to interact with your readers. Ask them to try your recipe and share the experience of their meal with you.

9. Write About Why You Started Blogging

If you’ve got a good story behind why you started blogging in the first place, tell it to your readers.

Write an open leader and let them know why you started, how it’s going, and where you see it going in the future. If your readers have their own blogs, ask them to share their own journeys with you.

10. Make an Ultimate Resource Post

You’ve got to sound like you’re an authority. To boost your credibility and improve content, create a post that acts as an “ultimate guide”.

It doesn’t matter what your topic is as long as it’s something your readers want to know more about. For increased value, include links to relevant products and similar blogs within yours.

11. Dare Your Readers to Do Something

Lots of people like a challenge and some people are willing to try anything once. Pose a scenario to your readers, ask them to do it, and have them report back to you about how it went.

Make sure you don’t encourage your readers to do anything that’s not safe.

If you don’t feel comfortable challenging your readers, do the reverse and ask them to challenge you instead.

12. Write a FAQs Post

Regardless of your niche or industry, it’s likely you get asked the same questions over and over again by various people. Create a post with FAQs and answer all those questions.

You can even report it as an FAQ page on your site for new readers and new users who might not know that much about you.

13. Create an A to Z Post

Like an ultimate guide or a top 100 list, an A to Z post is a great way to provide your readers with value and save them time from having to do their own research.

Make sure the topic is relevant to your niche and include links for added value. The more information you provide, the better your post will be.

14. List the Best Apps in Your Niche

Whether you’re into time management, cooking, finance, or sports, create a list of the best relevant apps. Try to be as comprehensive as you can and list as many apps as possible.

Remember to ask your readers at the end to share their favorites with you in the comments.

15. Make a List of “Hacks”

If you can make a list of ways to make life easier for your readers, you’re sure to score some extra points. Create a post with a list of hacks that will save your readers time (or money).

It’s an easy way to get clicks and have your blog shared with other readers.

16. Record a Podcast

It seems like everyone has a podcast these days, so why not take advantage of the trend? Record a podcast that your audience will find humorous, interesting, or informative.

With the right interviewee and topic you can establish yourself as an expert in your niche.

17. Ask Someone Credible to Write a Guest Post

Guest posts are a great way to bring new readers to your blog and have your content shared. If you know an industry insider in your niche, ask them to write a post that you can put on your site.

Not only will it lend credibility to your site, but it may bring new readership. Make sure to ask your guest blogger to post it on their site and social media pages as well.

18. Create a “10 Things You Don’t Know About Me” Post

It’s always a good idea to let your readers know a little bit about you. You can have a standard “about us” page, but if you want to make it interesting, create a post that details 10 things your readers don’t already know.

Your list can be personal, professional, or a combination of both. It’s a great way to connect with readers on a personal level, and it can also encourage readers to share their personal details with you.

19. Create a Music Playlist

Whether you’re into classic rock, EDM, or jazz, sharing music is a great way to connect with other people. If your readers enjoy your playlist, they’re likely to share it again and again.

If your first post is successful you can expand it into a blog series. Get creative and compile playlists for different moods, genres, and occasions.

20. Write About a Common Problem in Your Industry

Is there a trend, a new product, a new service, or an issue in your industry that has everyone on their toes? If you can identify an issue that’s freaking people out, write about it.

Maybe your readers are flipping out about Instagram’s feed algorithm. Or maybe they’re frustrated with how long it’s taking Amazon to open up their new seller’s account.

Whatever it is, identify the issue and try to provide your readers with enough info to calm them down.

21. Write a Month’s Post of Things You’re Obsessed With

From T.V. shows to news stories or a certain trending topic, people love reading about what other people like. And they love commenting on it as well.

This is a great way to create clickable content, and you can categorize the post in any way you want. The more categories and items you list, the better your post will be.

22. Host a 30-day Challenge

Encourage your readers to partake in a 30-day challenge together. It could be a fitness challenge, a reading challenge, a sports challenge, anything you want.

It doesn’t even have to be relevant to your niche. Ask your readers to share their results with you and, in turn, you can share your progress and results with them.

23. Write a How-To Post

You can pick any topic or action in the world. No matter what it is, there is someone out there who wants to know how to do it.

Be the authority on that subject and give your readers a detailed step-by-step list of the process.

To get your readers more involved, ask them to share their results with you after they’ve completed all the steps.

24. Do a Weekly Roundup of Relevant News

Regardless of what industry you’re in, there’s always breaking news to keep up on. It can be tough juggling all that information, especially since it comes from so many different sources.

To make things easier for your readers, do a weekly recap of the top headlines of the week. By linking to other articles and news sources you can increase your credibility and increase value.

25. Run an Experiment That’s Relevant to Your Product or Service

Readers love to be interactive and be able to see and read results, so create a post that details an experiment that your readers can partake in. Your experiment should be relevant to your product, your service, or your business.

Whether you’re new to blogging or looking for ways to create new shareable content, fill your editorial calendar with some of the ideas above. Not writing for a long time is a common mistake for new bloggers, and it’s easy to understand why: it’s easy to run out of new ideas.

But content ideas don’t have to be hard to come by.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need to provide your readers with real value.  A great post is something that provides something for your readers: knowledge, insight, entertainment, etc. Don’t create a top 10 list for the sake of doing so. Don’t do a giveaway because you want to entice your readers with free stuff.

Instead, focus on sharing credible information that your readers will actually want to read.

With strong content, an authentic point of view, and reliable info, you’re sure to see your readership increase.
